Electric Motors Donates -Yamaha EC-03 to MotoGP

Yamaha handed electric motorcycle to the EC-03 as the promoter Dorna MotoGP as a cooperative agreement. Delivery of executed when the MotoGP title in Portugal took place at the Estoril circuit last Sunday. This scooter-shaped motorcycle fleet complement of two-wheeled vehicles in the paddock during a series of races in 2011 which had previously been donated through JogRR Yamaha.

Each unit of EC-03 will receive adjustments graphics and logos that reflect his role in the arena.

This scooter uses lithium-ion battery 50 V, produced by Sanyo to move the Yamaha Integrated Power Unit (YIPU). YIPU it consists of a DC motor, control unit, planetary gear transmission, and brake drums, all together moving the wheels measuring 12 inches.

According to Yamaha, YIPU have the power 1.9 HP with a maximum torque of 9.6 Nm. Power claimed 43 km home range in the full battery condition with a top speed of 30 km per hour on flat roads for riders weighing 55 kg.

"Yamaha's long relationship with Dorna Sports so pride for us and continues to be an inspiration,"said Raffaella Pasquino, Yamaha Marketing Manager Europe. Introduction of EC-03 as a means of support in the MotoGP paddock, continued Pasquino, reflecting their mutual commitment to greening the racecourse.
